The Craft Wine Association agrees with the National Association of Wine Retailers that we must all work together, small wineries and large producers, to modernize the industry’s approach to wine distribution. By leveling the playing field for small retailers, we can be part of an obvious and long-needed solution, allowing for interstate deliveries and direct distribution channels. The current health crisis has underscored the need for a more resilient and distributed supply chain.
Small retailers should enjoy the opportunity to ship to customers. Currently, large producers and retailers dominate the consumer market. In the long run, this will help all of us who are the small, mostly family-owned, businesses in the wine industry. As small businesses ourselves, we know how important this is to the survival of the small retailer and the ability for consumers to have access to the wines they love. Thank you for your support.
